Just set sw 6 to ON (all others are off) and the same thing, replace the ram with the Kingston one that works perfect on the other machine, just test with one or two rams are the same.
Really frustrated with this problem, what I do always gives the same result, maybe it’s a motherboard problem and time to call HP support? But I don’t know how it’s happening, I’ve never done this before, and I’m not the original owner, I buy second hand servers. Is there any check I can do at this moment? Thank you
The only other thought I had was to make sure the CPU was inserted correctly. If the system had 2 CPUs and they took one before you took it, they may have done something to the first CPU and it didn’t sit properly in the socket.
I think you can remove the CPU without removing the heatsink first (I don’t have a DL360 G7 or check). But if you have to remove the heatsink, make sure you have some extra thermal compound because when you reattach the heatsink, you’ll want to clean off any old gunk and apply a thin layer of new compound. Besides memory errors, a CPU problem is probably the #2 reason why a system won’t boot at all and gives a long beep error.
The system can work without hard drives installed, so don’t worry about it. It’s probably a good idea to make sure you’ve removed everything from the system except for the essentials like the CPU and at least one memory module. It’s only if some PCI card is throttling the bus, or a bad hard drive is throttling some power or something… These are not common, but the removal of all that is not necessary will keep you on top of everything. It helps to focus.
Also make sure all fans are installed correctly. You can take them out and reinsert them to make sure they all have a good connection.
If nothing works, take a look at the motherboard and see if anything looks weird… a capacitor bent over funny or some bent pins or something weird. It helps if you’ve worked on these types of servers before because then you’ll have a better idea of what a typical system looks like, but anyone who’s worked with any type of motherboards knows what to expect. He is likely to know when something. he doesn’t feel good. 🙂

I remove the cooler from an existing cpu to see if there is one, and apply new thermal paste, then inspect some bent pins on the cpu socket and they look good.
I check if there are any bulged capacitors or something burnt on this motherboard, and no, they all look new and shiny like new from the store, I even on the capacitors near the CPU, GPU and other important components. Also check the -voltages, and all voltages are there. 1.50 to 2.50 if I remember correctly, should be good.
More than that I check for any overheating problem, and in fact I find nothing, all the components that definitely need to get heat, like the CPU, the bridges-chipsets etc. have a normal temperature., the app is 25-30 degrees celsius depending on how long I leave the server beep song lol
Apparently, the main components work fine. But there is a bad RAM, and when I insert a GOOD RAM module, instead of resetting and not resetting properly (I don’t know exactly how) this whole problem happened.

The Integrated Management Log (IML) that you see confirms that this is a problem specific to the memory configuration.
I looked at the specs on the Kingston memory you posted a picture of and it is not a registered DIMM (kvr1333d3s8n9/2g). It is not safe. The specs say you can use UDIMMs but you can’t mix and match with RDIMMs. I personally avoid unbuffered memory in the server so I never tried it.

The only advice I can give to help fix this is to take another close look at the memory sockets, especially the white socket in the first channel (the one you would use if you had a CP and only one installed) .
I saw a brand new Proliant (I think it was a brand new G4, fresh out of the box) that had some bent pins in one of the mem sockets, and luckily it was minor enough that I got it Can pull back with a little help. tool but did something similar, where all memory sockets showed errors.
And check some other sockets… if there are any shorted pins or just some gunk, that could be causing the problem.
Otherwise it may be time to find a replacement motherboard… I still want to test this memory in another HP server (not just another desktop machine or something that can take unbuffered or registered memory is), to I’m 100% sure it wasn’t a memory.
