There are three different lines of programmable controllers from Rockwell today that you can check out by getting a trial copy of the programming software, and I’ll describe each in detail below:
Allen Bradley Plc Training Free
If you’re in a business with a lot of older products and want to learn how to use them, you’ll be happy to know that Rockwell released RSLogix Micro Starter Lite, RSemulate 500, and RSLinx Classic Lite as free downloads for several Is. Year.
Plc Training: Free And Trial Programming Software
While the free RSLogix Micro Starter Lite can only program the MicroLogix 1000 and 1100 controllers, it programs the rest of the MicroLogix family as well as the SLC-500 and PLC-5 almost identically. Therefore, while learning RSLogix Micro, you will also learn key aspects of the SLC-500 and PLC-5.

How To Learn Plc Programming [step By Step]
If you are looking for the latest and most advanced “low cost” programmable controller from Rockwell Automation, then what you are looking for is the Micro 800 line.
This small and cost-effective PLC should not be confused with ‘smart relays’, as all Micro800s are not only fully fledged PLCs, but also support ladder logic, function blocks and the Structured Text programming language.
The one thing that keeps experienced A-B users from using these PLCs is what I think is actually an advantage for new users: the Micro800’s programming software doesn’t look or act much like RSLogix .
While many longtime users are reluctant to learn a new software package, the Micro800’s simple, standards-based programming environment supports three IEC-61131 languages and is, in my opinion, a good place to start before moving on to more complex It is a wonderful place. Best of all, the Micro800 Connected Components Workbench (CCW) programming software is completely free, and the latest versions also include a free Micro850 simulator so users can test their programs without purchasing a physical PLC.

Learning Rockwell’s flagship line of programmable automation controllers is the goal of many people seeking PLC training.
But unlike other PLC vendors, Rockwell doesn’t make it as easy as downloading a trial copy of its Studio 5000 programming and emulation software from its website.

First, you can call your local Rockwell distributor (find them here) and ask them for a temporary thirty-day activation (learn more about it here.)
The problem is that this program has been around for over a dozen years, but most distributors are unaware of its existence.
If you are in this situation or you are overseas and do not have a local Rockwell representative, another option is to contact Rockwell’s online activation support chat as Rockwell advised me on social media when I asked them about temporary activation I asked:

The Studio 5000 Full Edition supports not only all CompactLogix and ControlLogix controllers, but also all programming languages that these PACs support, including Ladders, Function Blocks, Structured Text, and Sequential Function Charts.
And if you don’t have CompactLogix or ControlLogix hardware, the Emulet 5000 gives you a way to test run your code.
Unfortunately, if you tell them this, they’ll usually assume you’re a college student and refer you to your instructor to buy a $200 student toolkit for 6 months.
However, simply tell them you’re requesting a demo copy of the software so you can try it out without going into too much detail about your goal of becoming a power user.
Controllogix Training Video And Detailed Lessons
Because Rockwell employees must fill out a form that requires a company name, they will not be able to process your request if you tell them you don’t have a company to fill the position.
However, if you don’t feel comfortable using your current employer’s name, keep in mind that in the US you are allowed to use your legal name as your company name. In fact, every US citizen has the right to run a business in his own name without registering it as a business with anyone (we are also required to report any income to the IRS just like big companies 😉
Rockwell’s Timed Activation is intended to give new users an opportunity to try their software, and like other companies that offer trial software, Rockwell’s Timed Activation will only allow the software to run for thirty calendar days, after which you will need to to buy a copy. to continue using it.

E Learning Courses
Another major programmable controller that is probably the most popular PLC in the world is the Siemens S7 series.
But unlike Rockwell, Siemens makes it very easy to get a 21-day trial copy of its TIA Portal.
Just follow the steps outlined in my article here and not only will you get 21 days to try our Siemens Step 7 programming software, but the TIA Portal test also includes the S7 PLC Simulator, PLCSim, and HMI programming software. WinCC.

Wago is another company known for its industrial automation products, offering a range of products including its popular line of Distributed I/O and PLCs.
Wago also offers a thirty-day trial license for the e!cockpit PLC programming software, which can be downloaded here.
With it, users can program in Ladder Diagram (LD), Function Block Diagram (FBD), Structured Text (ST), Instruction List (IL), Sequential Function Diagram (SFC) and Continuous Function Diagram (CFC).
